Dr. Vikram Ahuja has embraced these new technologies and treatments available to the benefit of his patients and referring practices for many years. Orthodontics has always been one of the most 'minimalistic' non-invasive approaches in dentistry as we aim to move teeth without any damaging side effects. Of course there are occasions when teeth need to be taken out, but generally we try and avoid extractions where possible by utilising technology. With new orthodontic brackets and wires we have been able to push the boundaries of what we have been previously been able to do. We can now take a different approach to orthodontics, considering the overall facial structure, and the impact orthodontics will have on a patient's facial shape 20-30 years later. This is a really significant development, and means orthodontics is no longer just 'straightening teeth', but we now recognise that our work has a much wider supporting as well as aesthetic role. These newer techniques have provided the patient with a far more comfortable treatment experience that causes less pain, faster treatment and simply stunning end results.
